Award Winning Childcare Center Expands to Huron Valley Area | Print |  E-mail

Having a child of my own, I have been to many childcare facilities. I know that I’m not the only parent that is concerned with the education that she receives and her safety after I drop her off at child care every morning on my way to work. That is why it is important to find a childcare facility that can match my expectations. After visiting last week, I now know that I have found the best learning center that I have ever seen. One that far surpassed every expectation I have ever had.

Morgan’s Early Learning Center just expanded to the Huron Valley area. They are located on Highland Rd. (M-59) across from the Wal-mart and Home Depot shopping center in White Lake.

morgans_comboFrom the moment I opened the front door I could see that my daughter would love coming to “school” everyday. They have a child-sized door right next to the “big door” for the children to be able to enter and exit
without the help of the parent. That told me immediately that they saw the importance of allowing the children to feel important and special.

I was introduced to the owners/directors Marla Morgan and Michelle Morgan after I finished being awed by my surroundings. They were friendly and delightful. They gave me a little history about Morgan’s Early Learning Center. This is their second location. The first center is located in the Grand Blanc area, and has been running for 11 years, and they are a family owned and operated business. They believe in giving the highest care and education possible to every child, which begins with making sure that all of their staff is highly educated in their field, experienced, and certified. They go even further by making sure that they always exceed the state child to teacher ratio. Their first center received the Governor’s Huron Valley Hometown Connection Quality Care Award, and Michelle stated that, “Just because we received the award does not mean that we can relax our standards. It is even more important to us now to continue what we have done to achieve this award and reach for even higher standards than we have now.” Marla added, “We are blessed to have the opportunity to raise the standard of care that we offer each child and their parents. We believe in educating children, but doing so within a nurturing environment.”

Then we began the tour of the center. They took me into each room of the facility, and every time I was shocked and amazed to see not just how clean each room was, but how organized they were. The spacious gross motor area (the indoor play area) as they called it, also housed child-sized and child friendly computers with educational games installed on them. My overall reaction to the newly remodeled facility was one of
awe and happiness at seeing a state-of-the-art child care center that far exceeded all of my expectations.

Not only did the facility exceed my expectations, but the academic structured schedule did as well. Some of the activities include learning Spanish and Sign Language. The children in the pre-school program learn everything they need to know to be ahead of the game when they begin kindergarten: counting 1-100, letters of the alphabet, shapes, days of the week, and weather.

The facility is open year round, Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:00pm. They also provide hot meals (breakfast and lunch) for the children as well as a morning and afternoon snack. All I have to do is drop her off, and they take care of everything else. Morgan's is not just an early learning center, it is a childcare center in every sense of the word.

Morgan's far exceeded my expectations after meeting the directors and teachers and seeing the facility and their “Commitment to Quality”. They provide a warm atmosphere where children are respected, nurtured, and encouraged to grow in their own unique way.
